The other maps are very simplified versions of the actual complex conditions that exist in a mining camp, which are a result of the laws of that mining district.  To illustrate, this is a segment of a map entitled "Map of Bingham Mines, West Mountain and Tooele Unorganized Mining Districts", by J.C.
